Louisa has been the best therapist I’ve ever had, and I’ve had many. I love how she thinks outside of the box when addressing multi-faceted, complex concerns. I love how she’s able to keep a sense of humor while realizing both yours and her worth as a person. She is unafraid to “go there” when you need to take care of the hard, heavy dealings in life.
One of the most influential pieces of advice that I learned from her was right after I purchased my childhood home and began improvement projects. She said that it is important to care for your home but that home is your second home. Your first home is your body. You have nothing else in life without the health of your body, so take the best care of it. That is more important than any brick and mortar dwelling we call home. That truly stuck with me and I think about that just about every day. I’ve struggled with my weight for the past 5 plus years and that was profound; it created the perfect epiphany for me at this/that point in my life. As such, I’ve started working out with a personal trainer for an hour three times a week and I check in with a nutritionist every other week. I have gained quite a bit…confidence, energy, increased self-esteem (AMAZING), and a more positive outlook on life; things that no numbers anywhere, whether on a scale or a tape measure, can ever compare. Louisa has been an inspiration to me for a very long time. My nickname for her is the Harrisburg Oprah. I have seen her take on challenges (with a smile and a shrug of the shoulders) that would have most people acting like a nervous wreck, and not just one challenge, she’ll take on multiple tasks and still have time to sit and have a casual conversation with a friend that will just stop by for a visit (I have been that friend multiple times).
When ever I think about reaching outside of my comfort zone and trying something new, I think about “how would Louisa do this”, or if I have an Idea and don’t know how to start it, I’ll just call her up and ask her opinion, and she has a way of making the scariest idea seem like a casual walk in the park. ......Coaching Client, started out as The Guy who used to live next door.

I remember sitting in the waiting room of my 1st therapy session holding back every tear in my body. This bright, smiling face came out and It was Louisa. She had this calming, easygoing personality which made me relax insistently. During the same time, I was exploring having weight loss surgery after many years of research. Louisa helped me realize I needed to put myself first which I failed to do for many years and I spiraled out of control with my health, marriage, my career and friendships. A huge part of the weight loss journey is the mental piece and I feel blessed beyond belief that I was lucky to get Louisa as my partner. I would not be in the happiest place of my life if it wasn’t for Louisa. The journey is not easy in life. But I am incredibly blessed to have Louisa in my life! I can still remember being on the plane to the United States. At that time, my heart began to race because I could not wait to land and start my new life. Louisa Brooks Eyler, where do I start? This amazing intelligent and beautiful woman with fierce confidence and grace has been by my side since teenage-years.
